- Displacement Mapping- alternative computer graphics technique in contrast to bump mapping, normal mapping, and parallax mapping, using a height map to cause an effect where the actual geometric position of points over the textured surface are displaced
- Bump Mapping- simulates bumps and wrinkles on the surface of an object
- Rendering- generating an image from a 3D model
- Alpha Channel- combining an image with a background to create the appearance of partial or full transparency
- NURBS vs Polygon- NURBS are the representation of curves and surfaces. Polygons are plane figures
- Tiling- the process of subdividing an image by regular grid
- Skinning- used to change deformations
- Aperture- is a hole or an opening through which light travels
- Shutter Speed- The amount of light that reaches the film or image
- Focal Length- Camera lens focal lengths are usually specified in millimetres
- Dolly- a film sequence
- Pan- a type of computer network
- Roll Aspect Ratio- A long wing has higher bending stress for a given load than a short one and therefore requires higher structural design specifications

Vocab Review 3
- Rhythm- movement marked by the regulated succession of strong and weak elements
- Directional Movement- is actually a collection of three separate indicators combined into one
- Proportion / Scale- used to calculate percent that an original image must by reduced.
- Balance- an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady.
- Unity- a whole or totality as combining all its parts into one.
- Harmony- the combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce chords and chord progressions having a pleasing effect.
-

- Contrast- the state of being strikingly different from something else, typically something in juxtaposition or close association.
- Emphasis (Focal Point / Center of interest)- the point at which all elements or aspects converge; center of activity or attention
-
Vocab Review 2
- Line- is a graphics primitive that represents a line joining a sequence of points.
- Shape- Form of an object and opposed to other properties like color and texture.
- Form / Volume- a volume form on a differentiated manifold is a nowhere-vanishing top-dimensional form

- Color- is the visual perceptual property corresponding in humans to the categories called red, blue, yellow, green and others. Color derives from the spectrum of light
- Value/Tone- is a representation of variation in the perception of a color or color space's brightness.
- Texture- the visual and especially tactile quality of a surface
-
- Space- is the boundless three-dimensional extent in which objects and events have relative position and direction.
-
- Perspective- a technique of depicting volumes and spatial relationships on a flat surface.
